The Oaks Childcare Clubs
Welcome to The Oaks. We offer breakfast and after school clubs at Mortimer St. John’s Infant School, Mortimer St. Mary’s Junior School and an after school club at Burghfield St. Mary’s Primary School.
Our clubs are run by professional, friendly staff who provide a fun, safe place for children to play before and after their school day. We work closely with the schools, parents and children to provide continuity of care and to create an environment that works for each child.
Little Oaks, our club based at Mortimer St. John’s school, was judged to be Outstanding in all areas following an Ofsted inspection in 2017.
Working for Parents
All working parents want to know that their child is safe and happy while they are at work. The Oaks is a not for profit organisation (a Community Interest Company) providing a fun, safe place for children of different ages to play, relax and spend time before and after the school day.
Familiar location: Little Oaks, the after school club, is held in the school hall at Mortimer St. John’s. This helps your child relax after a full day at school in familiar surroundings. Early Little Oaks Breakfast Club is held in the community centre, opposite the school and the children are delivered safely to their classrooms each morning.
Child-led play: Your child decides whether they want to run around outside, draw with friends or chill out quietly with a book. Our staff support children to relax and have fun, whatever their needs or interests.
Healthy food: Breakfasts and snacks after school are healthy and varied. We can accommodate any dietary requirements or preferences.
Expert staff: Our team are carefully selected to bring a wide range of skills and experience to each club. Our teams have many years of professional childcare experience and all have regular updates to their training and development. All staff are subject to enhanced DBS checks prior to employment.
Breakfast club – Early Little Oaks
Children can be dropped at The Comunity Centre from 7.30am. A wide range of breakfast choices including fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt and water is provided to prepare the children for the day ahead. After having time to play, children are taken to St. John’s.
After School Club – Little Oaks
Little Oaks After School Club runs from the end of the school day until 6.00pm, we are based in the school hall. Children can come straight to the club or attend one of the school-led after school clubs first. A wide range of healthy, tasty snacks are on offer so that the children can eat and drink as they choose. Often the biggest complaint from our parents is that their child won’t come home because they’re having too much fun!
